The science of the future or the future of science?

Personalized healthcare within 20 years.

In the wake of current studies, scientists expect to be able to predict, diagnose and treat diseases in a completely personalized manner within the next 20 years.

The goal is to take advantage of modern technology to monitor early disease symptoms so you can always be one step ahead of the disease itself. Basically, this is what already happens in the use of companion diagnostics and immunotherapy in cancer patients.

To define specific treatments for each specific pathology, scientists rely on the use of new clinical biomarkers and ultrasensitive immunological tests. These increasingly less invasive systems are able to identify biomarkers in the blood and allow the study of genes or molecules related to specific diseases.

On the other hand, scientists continue to study the antimicrobial resistance of viruses and bacteria that evolve genetically in response to therapeutic treatments. The definition of increasingly accurate diagnostic tests is the best answer that science can develop at this time.

We still do not know what the future holds, but we know for sure that science will always be on our side.
